1) Material: Catgut,a natural absorbable suture obtained by longitudinally slitting the intestinal submucosa and tissues of sheep and goat, twisting the ribbons and joining them in wet condition giving monofilament finish;
It is composed of purified connective tissue. The chromic gut contains a chromic salt solution to delay absorption. Surgical gut suture meets all requirements established by the United States Pharmacopeia (U.S.P.) for absorbable surgical sutures.
